Our Web Solution We construct and customize your system using software commercially available through technologies from Microsoft's Windows NT Server with Internet Information Server. Security is provided by our managed Server host XO which provides SSL, 128 bit encryption. Other programs used include Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, MS Access, ASP, Visual Basic, Cold Fusion, Cleaner 5, Flash, HTML, CGI, and Adobe are some of the programs used to customize your company's system. Proprietary Database and System Design: We maintain a database of Federal & State labor and employment law, human resource information, this includes benefits, rates and policy coverage information from alliance partners in the insurance and financial services industries (including flexible benefits enrollment and processing, consolidated billing, eligibility tracking, COBRA administration, 401(k) Plans, and Section 125 Cafeteria Plans) and other voluntary benefits. Our customized Internet Human Resource Information System (HRIS) also provides for online recording and reporting general employee information, such as compensation, employee benefits, skills, performance review, EEOC, OSHA training and job descriptions. Our system can be customized to integrate with your company's current systems and are not platform dependent. How we update our information: We rely upon a combination of human resource consulting firms to obtain compliance and employment regulations in the local areas; and we rely on laws enacted and regulations issued by legislative and regulatory authorities by tapping into and monitoring all the government websites to bring you the latest employment practices content. We monitor the Federal Register on a weekly basis to obtain the most current regulatory information. We also consult with and provide your company with our national HR Hotline partners to deliver to you by phone, by fax or by Internet the most up to date information. ATM network ensure maximum performance and reliability. Our servers are
monitored 24 hours a day by XO's staff of highly trained network engineers.
The XO Network® architecture is based on Super Points of Presence (SuperPOPs),
an advanced, geographically-dispersed ATM and frame relay backbone, and
distributed data centers which enable high functionality, low/fixed
latency, high throughput, and superior reliability to support a wide range
of applications. The XO Host service has experienced zero
unscheduled downtime since the service was launched in May 1997. XO Center
Distributed Server Environment guarantees 99.97% site uptime.
XO Hosted Web sites are
load-balanced across a multi-server cluster using a proprietary networking
architecture to increase performance and reliability. Should a server,
router, or other piece of hardware fail, other equipment in the cluster
will pick up the load and therefore your site will not be affected. They
back-up all Web sites data nightly to provide additional protection
against data loss. DATA CENTERS All US-based XO data centers are connected to at least 2 different OC-12 POPs and have multiple and diverse fiber paths into the data center. The XO flagship European data center in London is connected to the London Internet Exchange (LINX) via multiple OC-12 connections. XO is serious about security. They provide protection against network invasions, physical break-ins, and privacy violations. XO's advanced firewall system keeps out those people who don't belong on our network. Network engineers monitor our systems 24 hours a day. Their facilities are staffed by experienced system administrators and monitored using 24 hour security surveillance systems. Environmental Controls The key to any data center, is the proper environmental controls. XO's Centers are equipped with dual transformers, redundant air conditioning (HVAC), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with backup diesel generator, multiple power distributions units and breaker panels, FM200 fire suppression systems with dry-pipe sprinkler backup, overhead cable feeds, tempered glass, antistatic tile and seismic bracing.
Power Backup The UPS can handle up to 300 KVA which is more than adequate to accommodate full capacity of our data center complex. There are two separate ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches), one for the UPS and one for the lights and HVAC units. The UPS has three separate battery strings for increased redundancy. At full load, the Concentric Center has 18 minutes of battery power, more than ample time given that the diesel generator will start after two seconds of lost utility power. The diesel generator holds 999 gallons of fuel and is housed in a separate building.
